Bio
Jose Luis is an award-winning music composer and pianist with a strong foundation in jazz and classical composition. He holds a Master’s degree in Film Scoring from Berklee College of Music (2025), where he recorded original works with the renowned Budapest Scoring Orchestra, and a Bachelor’s degree in Music Composition from the University of Florida–New World School of the Arts. His compositions have been performed internationally, including the piano trio Azulin, commissioned and presented by the South Beach Chamber Ensemble in Mexico City, Wisconsin, and Miami. Jose Luis’s music for the short film Foxy’s Style earned first prize at the Robert Avalon International Composition Competition (2020). His previous works, such as Endless Cycle and Levitate, have also garnered public and critical acclaim. A passionate educator, he is a Steinway & Sons Teacher Partner in Miami and an active member of the Miami Music Teachers Association and MTNA. His accolades include multiple composition awards and piano competition prizes, reflecting both his creative versatility and performance excellence.
Collaborations and Performances

Jose Luis recorded successfully three of his compositions with the prestigious Budapest Scoring Orchestra remotely as part of his masters degree studies at Berklee in 2024.

His commissioned piano trio, Azulin, was performed in 2023 by the South Beach Chamber Ensemble in Mexico City, Wisconsin and Miami.

The short film Foxy's Style (2019) was awarded 1st prize for the music in the Robert Avalon International Composition Competition for Composers in 2020.
